Beginning in 2021, Illinois Election law allows any registered voter to become a Permanent Vote by Mail voter.
When an application for Permanent Vote by Mail status is received and processed by the Election office, official ballots will automatically be mailed to the voter for each election in which the voter requests. This can include primaries where a party must be declared or not. The voter no longer needs to submit a Vote by Mail ballot request for each subsequent election.

- You will save taxpayer dollars by not requiring an application be mailed to you each election and allowing the Election office to better plan the number of ballots and supplies they will need to have for mail ballots.

- You can take your time studying the ballot and vote from home when you are ready.
You will remain on the permanent vote by mail list unless you request to be removed, you move out of Macoupin County, or your registration changes.
